Lourdes Murguia
 |
The artist Lourdes Murguía Pozzi was born on August 28, 1955 in México City. Since a very young age she discovered her passion for painting. With her studies in graphic design she made a profession out of her enthusiasm. She has lived in Guadalajara for the last 28 years where she has been able to develop herself as a full-time painter and sculpture. Several exhibitions have witness her life dedication to art.
The subjects in her paintings are mainly human figures both abstract and figurative. The objective is the expression of feelings so that the views can connect with them.
The main techniques she uses is acrylic and mixed on canvas, applied in diverse ways. Sometimes the acrylic is dissolved in water to create transparencies in varied intensities. Other times it is mixed with charcoal, dry and oil pastel. In order to create a variety of textures, the canvas occasionally incorporates marble powder and sand, as well as working with several utensils to create them. |
